Inside this issue: A Haircut Story · A Free 5-Day Email Course · One Weekend Question November 2026 | Issue #006 Hi , Thank you to everyone who told me recently what makes sharing your faith hard. I read every answer. Some of you said you freeze when you're caught off guard or don't know what to say. This story is for you. Heartfelt Encouragement: You Don't Have to Say It Perfectly A few years ago, I sat down for a haircut with a stylist named Kelsey. She was mid-20s, bright red hair, a lot of tattoos, and very friendly. I'd never met her before. Then she asked, "What are you doing this weekend?" My heart picked up speed. I could say "going to a movie" and leave it there. Or I could tell the whole truth, which meant bringing up Jesus. I'd been praying that God would use me more in everyday life. Now here was the chance. Do what I prayed about, or chicken out. I told her about the movie first. That part was easy. Then I took a breath and told her the rest. "I'm also helping a ministry on Saturday. We're taking Thanksgiving baskets to families who need food. We'll tell them Jesus loves them and ask if we can pray for them." She said, "You're actually going to tell someone, 'Jesus loves you'?" She hadn't heard of anyone doing that in a long time. She told me her parents took her to church as a kid, but sports and busy schedules pushed it out. Then I told her one more thing. I wasn't sure how she'd take it. "I also hand out gospel tracts and talk to people about Jesus in public places." She looked curious. "What's a gospel tract?" "It's a small piece of paper with Bible verses and the message of the gospel on it." "What's the gospel?" I said, "Jesus died for our sins." That was it. I wanted to say more. I didn't. I told her it's not just religion, it's a relationship with Jesus, and that He loves her. Then we talked about other things. Before I left, I handed her one of my tracts and a big tip. (If someone is serving you, tip well. Don't let a cheap tip undo the seed you just planted.) I felt bad all the way home. I didn't give a full gospel presentation. But here's the thing: I gave an honest answer, and she kept asking questions. That's a start. One Practical Tip: Answer the Weekend Question Next time someone asks, "What are you doing this weekend?" add one thing about God. Keep it small. "I'm serving at church Sunday." "I'm going to a Bible study." "I'm praying for a friend." That's all. Then see what happens. Some people will move on. Some will say, "Church? Tell me more." Either way, you said something. (And no one fainted.) That's exactly how my door opened with Kelsey. Comments? Ideas? Feedback? I'd love to hear from you! I read every reply, and your answers help shape what I write next. Let's stay committed in the work together. In Christ, Brad St. Clair P.S. You don't have to say it all. You just have to say something. Hit reply and tell me about a time you said something to someone about your faith. Big or small, awkward or smooth. I'd love to hear it. Missed an issue? Read past issues here. |
