October 2026 | Issue #005

Hi,

Last issue, we talked about strangers. Some of you also told me that work is a tough place to share your faith. A few of you worry about getting written up. That’s fair, so let’s talk about it.

Heartfelt Encouragement: Your Coworkers Are Already Watching

You’re in the breakroom. A coworker asks, “How was your weekend? Did you do anything?” You say, “Good. Nothing much.”

But you went to church. You even prayed for that coworker by name. And still, “nothing much.” (Welcome to the club. I’ve done it too.)

If your coworkers know you follow Jesus, they’re already watching. They notice if you tell the truth when it costs you. They notice if you do what you said you’d do. They notice how you talk about the boss when the boss isn’t around. No pressure. ;-)

I’m guessing I’m a lot like you. I’m not perfect. Here’s one of the times I blew it. My company was going through big changes, and I got negative. My jokes turned sarcastic, and I was dragging people down with me. The Holy Spirit made it clear what I was doing. So I apologized to my coworkers. They were gracious, and they noticed I owned it.

Here’s the plain truth. Nobody has ever been saved by watching a coworker be on time. Good work earns you a chance to be heard. It doesn’t replace the message. If that ties your stomach in knots, that’s normal. Nervous doesn’t disqualify you.

Ministry Updates: What’s Happening at YouEvangelized

A new page, and something on the way:

Christian Integrity at Work: what your coworkers notice before you say a word

Coming soon: I’m almost done building a free 5-day email course called Start Without Making It Weird. You get one short email and one small step each day. By day five, you’ll be ready to have one real conversation about Jesus with someone you know. It should be ready in a week or so. I’ll let you know when it is.

One Practical Tip: One Coworker, One Prayer, One Small Step

This week, pick one coworker. Pray for them by name. Then do one kind thing for them on purpose.

Be honest, dependable, positive, or kind. Cover a task when they’re swamped. Tell them something good you noticed. It doesn’t have to be big. You’re not trying to be bold yet. You’re building trust.

A word about work rules. Some companies don’t allow this kind of talk on the clock, so know your company’s policy. Use your break or lunch. Keep it one-on-one. If someone isn’t interested, drop it and stay friendly.

And the next time someone asks about your weekend, tell the truth. “I went to church.” That’s a door. You don’t have to walk through it yet. Just stop closing it.

P.S. You don’t have to feel bold at work. You just have to stop saying “nothing much.”
