Our Journey: 21 Years of Evangelism Outreach History

Welcome! If you are looking for the evangelism outreach history of Repent and Turn Ministries, you are in the right place.

We have moved our home to YouEvangelized. Below, you can find all our previous outreach reports and see how our journey continues!

The Founding of Repent and Turn Ministries

Over the last two decades, I’ve served on the front lines of evangelism. And let me tell you, my shoes have the mileage to prove it.

I’m here to share what I’ve learned with you, so you can skip the awkward "figuring it out" phase I went through.

I founded an evangelism ministry and named it "Repent and Turn Ministries."

We didn't go for a subtle name. We went straight to the point.

We had two primary missions:

  1. Seek and save the lost through street witnessing at public events—downtown areas, parades, festivals, fairs, concerts, sporting events, college campuses, and anywhere else people gathered.

  2. Train believers how to share the gospel and be a witness for Christ. We trained individuals and groups to step out of their comfort zones.

I first served as a ‘Seed Sower’ with The Great News Network (GNN), dedicating time and energy to seek and reach the lost.

Next, I attended and graduated from a GNN Evangelism Bootcamp.

This is where I learned to face my fears—knees knocking and all—while boldly sharing the Gospel with people.

I then qualified as a GNN Local Leader

Local Leaders are men and women with a heart to seek and save the lost and a burden to train others.

I became the Local Leader for the Springfield area (which included Branson, Missouri).

If someone wanted to learn how to share the gospel using the "Way of the Master" method in the area, they contacted me.

With my Repent and Turn Ministries active, I led teams of believers in one-on-one street witnessing and open-air preaching.

Along the way, God opened doors to teach evangelism in many settings. Here are some of them:

20+ Years of Field Experience: Real-Life Witnessing

It's one thing to talk about sharing your faith, but it's a whole different ballgame when you're out there doing it.

My journey hasn't just been in classrooms; it's been on busy streets, at loud festivals, and other large events.

Here’s a look at some of the wild and wonderful places God has sent me to to do evangelism training and share the good news.

Our History of Training Local Churches

Tri-Lakes Assembly of God

Branson, MO (Former Mel Tillis Theater, a 2,600-seat auditorium)

We taught an 8-week Wednesday night evangelism class, and then an evangelism Sunday School class.

We took attendees to the streets in Branson to share the gospel with strangers.

They did great! And thankfully, nobody fainted from nerves.

Teen Challenge of the Ozarks

My wife, Leann, and I taught an 8-week evangelism class to young ladies in the program.

We then took the girls to downtown Branson, Missouri, to share the gospel with people on the street.

James River Assembly Church (JRA)

Ozark, MO (A mega-church with a 3,400-seat auditorium. Thousands attend service each week.)

God opened the door for Leann and I to teach an evangelism "Adult Bible Fellowship" class on Sunday mornings.

I created a website to use during the class and had an evangelism logo created.  The website is no longer active.

We led the group out to witness and put their training into action.

Christian Ministries Church

Billings, MO - A small country church with high-tech equipment.

The pastor appointed me Evangelism Director.

I taught evangelism classes, led a one-day Evangelism Crash Course, and organized an ongoing church outreach team for public events.

I led a large group from our church to downtown Springfield, MO right in Park Central Square.

Kansas City Evangelists’ Fellowship

Kansas City, MO - For a season, I attended this group of local evangelists. We met for teaching and encouragement.

The director chose me to lead the team that went out to share the gospel in downtown Kansas City, Missouri, in the Power and Light District.

I also shared my testimony and taught a class on how to share the gospel with them.

Firebase Movement – Love Kansas City (MO)

A startup ministry that partnered with local churches to reach the lost in the Kansas City area.

We hosted prayer and outreach events and provided evangelism training to the body of Christ.

Christian Motorcyclists Association (CMA) – Worldwide

I’m a member of the Springfield, Missouri chapter—Ozark Christian Riders.

In 2024, I served as the Chapter 2x2 evangelism leader, teaching bikers how to share their testimonies and the gospel at biker rallies and events.

In 2025, I served as our Chapter Chaplain.

I led motorcycle outreaches on the streets and at bike rallies. We met riders where they were.

We prayed with them. We listened to their stories. We showed them the love of Christ in real ways.

When God opened the door, we shared the gospel and the hope we have in Him.

Through these years of ministry experience, I’ve trained hundreds of believers and watched God turn fear into boldness.

Global Evangelist Alliance (GEA)

I am a member of the Global Evangelist Alliance (GEA). This group is truly a blessing.

The GEA is basically a massive, worldwide team of people—evangelists of every race and language—all united by one amazing goal: winning the world for Jesus.

Their big, exciting vision is that every single person on earth will have an authentic encounter with Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit by a specific date: Pentecost 2033!

Training the Whole Body of Christ: Beyond Denominational Walls

I have successfully trained believers from different major denominational backgrounds. Your specific tradition does not change the mission.

My focus is simple: I equip you with clear biblical training to share the gospel - no matter what your church sign says.

Whether you sprinkle, dunk, or somewhere in between – the Great Commission doesn't come with denominational fine print.

Personally, I have been a member of or have attended various churches over the years. Some include Baptist, Assembly of God, Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), non-denominational, and others.

I’ve seen it all—from long services to short sprints, from old-fashioned organ hymns to chest-thumping drums.

Through it all, one thing remains constant: the message of salvation never changes, even if the worship style does.

Biblical Training and Ministry Credentials

I believe that if I am going to help you share the Gospel, I need to be a good steward of the truth myself.

For over 20 years in ministry, I’ve committed myself to learning and growing so I can be a dependable guide on your own journey of sharing the Gospel.

To better serve you and remain anchored in God’s Word, I’ve invested in formal training and focused biblical study.

My heart for this training comes from the instruction we find in 2 Timothy:"

"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth." — 2 Timothy 2:15 (ESV)

Associate of Ministry Degree – Vision International University - May 2020

After years of studying the Bible on my own, I wanted to take a more structured path to grow my knowledge and better serve my ministry.

I completed over 160 lessons through the International School of Ministry.

This provided a deep look into everything from New Testament history to practical outreach.

This degree from Vision International University has given me a solid biblical foundation to help me train you with even more confidence and integrity.

Independent Ordained Minister – United Christian Faith Ministries (UCFM) - October 2005

I am ordained through United Christian Faith Ministries, a global association that helps believers fulfill their calling to share the Gospel.

To receive these credentials, I met their high standards for biblical training and now renew my commitment to their Christ-centered mission every year.

Diploma of Biblical Studies – International School of Ministry (ISOM) - May 2020

I received this diploma as a key milestone during my studies with the International School of Ministry. It represents the successful completion of the core biblical training that prepared me for my Associate degree and my work in the field.

This foundation ensures that the guidance I offer you is rooted in a thorough and sincere study of God’s Word.

School of Biblical Evangelism – Way of the Master - Oct 2007

I completed this in-depth training to learn how to share the Gospel more effectively using the Ten Commandments to reach the conscience.

With over 100 lessons covering everything from basic doctrine to answering tough questions, this course helped me become a more confident and fearless witness for Jesus.

It provided the biblical principles I now use to help you talk to anyone about the Savior with clarity and love.

Evangelism Bootcamp – The Great News Network (GNN) -Nov 2005

This bootcamp was a hands-on experience where I learned to roll up my sleeves and get in the trenches of real-world outreach.

It was a life-changing time that helped me face my fears and move from sitting in a classroom to boldly sharing the Gospel in the public square.

By sharpening my skills with other motivated believers, I grew into a more effective and loving witness for Jesus.

This training took my relationship with God to a whole new level and prepared me to help you step out in faith with total confidence.

I’ve also completed other certificate courses that grow my skills and make me more effective in ministry and in my secular employment.

The "Ministry Seasons" Historical Archive

I’m unlocking a vault of stories from the last twenty years — street conversations, small breakthroughs, and big God moments — and inviting you inside.

These are field-notes in story form — awkward starts, honest questions, and the moment someone pauses and really starts to listen.

Below, step into these stories by “Season” — scenes of awkward starts, honest questions, and the gentle ways God moves through ordinary conversations.

Season 1: Foundations and the First Fruits

It didn’t start with a big plan — it started with a knot in my stomach, a pocket full of tracts, and God nudging me into conversations I kept trying to walk past.

These early reports tell the story of those first steps: awkward starts, surprised smiles, and the moments when a simple “Hey, can I ask you something?” stopped someone in their tracks.
